Percussion

Passionate about the many aspects that percussion can take, Julien Pellegrini explores many of their facets: contemporary creation, improvisation, chamber music, early music, symphonic orchestra.

He regularly plays with the Orchestre National de Bordeaux Aquitaine, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, the Ensemble Sillage, and the orchestras of Lyon, Rennes, Limoges…

His participation in the Ensemble Alkymia since 2016 has led him to regularly combine early music, improvisations, creations, and sound experiments.

He also applies his electroacoustic skills (programming and sound processing) there.

He recently participated in the recording of Robert Pascal’s album Aubes as well as the creation of his latest piece, Herbes Rases.

Julien Pellegrini graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon in percussion and chamber music. He is also very interested in pedagogy, and after obtaining his teaching diploma (CA) in 2017, he taught at the CRR of Rennes until 2022.

He is currently a percussion professor at the CRR of Bordeaux.

He became a member of Proxima Centauri in 2024.
